Welcome back to a brand new year at RIS.  We in the music department are excited to see all of our students from Kindergarten through 8th grade.  Parents make sure to stop by on open house night (September 14 or 21).

Grade One Arts EXPO

The Grade One Arts Exhibition: Peace and Conflict in the Arts will take place on 5-Feb at 12:30 in the Auditorium.  Look for reminders going home!  We look forward to all parents, friends and family sharing this celebration with the Grade 1 students.

Grade 1 Arts EXPO

The grade one Arts Exhibition unit begins on Monday, 11-Jan.  The focus for the unit is Peace and Conflict in the Arts.  A notice with a schedule went home today, so look for it!

The EXPO will be held on Friday, 5-Feb.  We hope to see you all there!

Dedication

At the dedication of RIS, on Sept 30 at 11:30 AM, grades K-4 will perform "Hello to all the Chidren of the World". Please make sure your lower school students wears their uniform that day, and have a towel to sit on outside!

Just a Reminder

All performance opportunites outside of RIS that we are made aware of are posted outside the auditorium. Check there often!

Connecticut Children's Chorus

Auditions for the Connecticut Children's Chorus will be held at the University of Hartford, on September 13. If students are interested in auditioning, an appointment can be made by calling (860) 768-4451. If there are any questions, contact Dr. Stuart Younse at younse@hartford.edu. A flyer with more information is hanging outside the auditorium. Students in Grades 1-6 are invited to audition.

First Day of School

The music department is excited to get started with the new year in our brand new facilities! Lots of exciting musical opportunities will be happening this year, so look here for updates!
